Privacy

This site is run by Dave Evans, trading as Coding Dave, from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It sells custom software; it does not sell data. There is no advertising network here, no third-party tracking pixel, and no cookie banner — because there is nothing to consent to.

What gets collected

If you fill in the contact form

Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. That’s stored so I can reply to you and keep track of the conversation, and it’s emailed to me. Nothing more is inferred, appended or bought from anyone else.

Alongside it I record how you arrived: the first page you landed on this visit, the site that referred you if any, and campaign tags if the link you followed carried them. That is so I can tell which parts of this site are actually useful to people. In your browser it lives for the length of that session and no longer, and it involves no cookie and no identifier that could recognise you on a later visit or anywhere else. If you send a message, a copy is saved with it and kept for as long as the enquiry is.

Your IP address and browser user-agent are saved with the message too. That is what lets the form tell a person from a script and stops one source flooding it — a security measure rather than analytics. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are kept with the enquiry rather than separately.

If you just read the site

Aggregate statistics only — which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which site linked you here. This runs on Plausible, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites. I cannot identify an individual visitor from it, and neither can they.

Automatically, by the server

Firebase Hosting keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period. That’s ordinary web-server operation and I don’t do anything with it beyond diagnosing faults.

Cookies

This site sets none. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that may set a short-lived technical cookie on that page; it exists to tell a human from a script and is not used for tracking.

Where it goes

I use a small number of providers, and no one else:

• Google Firebase — Hosting, and the database where contact form submissions are stored. Data is held in the United States.
• Resend — Sends the notification to me and the confirmation to you.
• Plausible Analytics — Aggregate visitor statistics, hosted in the EU.
• Cloudflare — Bot protection on the contact form. Your IP address is sent to it as part of that check.

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing. It would be disclosed only if the law required it.

How long it’s kept

Enquiries are kept while there’s a live conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back. If we end up working together, project records are kept for as long as the law and sensible business practice require. Ask and I’ll delete yours.

Your rights

Email me at dave@codingdave.dev and I will tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to those things; I’d rather just do them than argue about which regime applies.

Children

This is a business-to-business site and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If what I collect changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves. There’s no version history to dig through.
